Families In Recovery Support Groups

Domestic Violence Statistics

35.1% of Georgia women and 39.9% of Georgia men experience intimate partner physical violence, sexual violence and/or stalking.

In 2018, 97 Georgia citizens lost their lives due to domestic violence.

In 42% of the cases studied through Georgia’s Domestic Violence Fatality Review Project, children were present during the killing.

Research indicates that the presence of violence in the home can increase the likelihood that child maltreatment will also occur.

About the Program

The program is a online motivational, educational, and supportive program for women who have been in abusive intimate relationships.

The online support group will help women who have experienced domestic violence understand the impact on themselves, their children, and others around them. Women who are victims of domestic violence are often so preoccupied with their own safety and survival that they can lose sight of the needs of their children. Many battered women report that being in abusive relationships has affected their ability to parent effectively. Therefore, women in the program will be equipped with basic parenting strategies.

All services are confidential and provided within a safe non-judgmental environment.
